Here is some feedback from those who have trained with Rob:

"Rob is extremely dedicated and passionate about Jiu Jitsu, I believe this school will be very successful serving the community of Leduc and surrounding areas with high quality Jiu Jitsu."

"Over the past 10 years I have had the opportunity to Train with Rob Thompson at several different seminars and BJJ clubs in Edmonton and the surrounding area. I have always enjoyed his thorough instruction and the class structure he provides. I found it very comfortable for all ages and levels of athletes. Being a Judo Competitor first I very much appreciated his level of competence both on his feet and on the ground. If you have an opportunity to train with Rob I am very sure you will be pleased with the environment he maintains and the quality of instruction you will receive."
Sensai David Smits
St.Albert Tokai Judo Club
"I have trained beside and under Rob Thompson for the last 10 years. Rob is the toughest guy I have ever seen in competition yet amazingly considerate to those beneath him in skill and ability. He is one of the best teachers of jiu jitsu I have ever trained under. On and off the mat he is an outstanding example for students to follow. I would send my children to his instruction in a heartbeat."

"I had the opportunity to experience Rob's support during my first tournament at the submission series. Great instructor, calm and committed. I won't be surprised at the success of this dojo."
Lincoln Deyette
"I have trained with Rob for over 8 years. As a training partner he dedicated countless hours helping me prepare and find success at IBJFF tournaments. Without his patience and support, I am confident I would never have achieved the rank of Black Belt. His understanding of the details and dedication to Jiu Jitsu is remarkable. It has been absolute pleasure watching him grow into a family man and now open his own Jiu Jitsu studio. Leduc you have been blessed to have this level of instructor and quality of a man in your community."

"Rob has been an Instructor at Elite Taekwondo for many years. He is very dedicated in learning and teaching the art of Brazilian Jiujitsu. I think Leduc is very fortunate to have a Professor of Rob’s caliber to open an Academy in their area. I look forward to seeing this Academy grow and flourish!"

"I have been training with Rob Thompson since 2011 and could not recommend him more as a martial arts instructor. We both progressed to the rank of black belt within a year of each other and Rob has always been a great sparring partner from whom I've learned much from. He has a valuable and unique perspective in Jiu Jitsu, coming from a background in wrestling. More importantly, his attitude and commitment to helping everyone on his team improve on and off the mat is his greatest quality. Personally, I started training Jiu Jitsu in 2006 with personal goals to lose weight and gain self defense skills. In combination with a change in diet, I lost over 50 lbs in a year. Since starting BJJ, I pursued a career in law enforcement and have training regularly to keep up my operational skills. I firmly believe that anyone involved in a career in law enforcement, should train some form of martial arts. BJJ is ideal due to its focus on subduing and controlling people who are bigger and stronger than you while having the least risk of injury to everyone involved. Being in law enforcement, I have been presented with numerous high stress and violent situations. BJJ has given me the confidence to stand up to violent threats and focus on verbal de-escalation, knowing that I can defend myself physically if need be. Leduc BJJ will most certainly be a valuable addition to the community."

"I wrestled with Rob in high school on the Black Gold Wrestling Club. He was a top contender in Canada and always dedicated to helping everybody on the team learn and grow as athletes. Rob coached the team as an assistant coach for a couple years after high school and found his love for BJJ shortly after. With 14+ years of training BJJ Rob brings the highest level of BJJ to Leduc hands down! Great teacher, great person and a great friend!"
