There have recently been some studies on the matter that prove it; but just ask anyone who trains in BJJ and they will tell you there is no better way to relieve stress. When you’re on the mat rolling you disconnect from all of life problems and live in the moment. Jiu Jitsu also builds Self Esteem and positive self image. Some practitioners have even reported relief from anxiety and depression.

4) CREATIVE THINKING & PROBLEM SOLVING

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is often referred to as Human Chess. The very nature of the art is very adaptive. You constantly adapting to different body types, styles and techniques. It trains your brain to think calmly under stress and overcome complex problems, and every time you step on the mat you get a new set of challenges.

Jiu Jitsu practitioners interact so closely with each other that they inevitably build bonds and friendships. It’s a great way to meet new people and build lasting life long relationships. I often refer to my BJJ team as Family because there is no other word that describes the interconnected social bonds in the tight knit BJJ community.

6) RESPECT & DISCIPLINE

To progress in Jiu Jitsu you must treat your Professor and all fellow students with the utmost respect.
